Body art facilities
(tattoo/body piercing parlors) are inspected once a year by
Environmental Health Services (EHS) of the El Paso County Department
of Health and Environment (EPCDHE). Body art facilities are
not licensed but are regulated and monitored by EPCDHE. EPCDHE
offers regularly scheduled "El Paso County Body Artist" classes
that are required for any artist that does body art or piercing
in El Paso County. Upon completion of the class, a body artist
will receive a certification card that must be renewed every
two years. The "El Paso County Body Artist" classes cover blood
borne pathogens, universal precautions, and EPCDHE regulations.
The registration form for the class is provided below, or please
call (719) 575-8636 for more information.
