Travel clinic provides a number of services, including:
TRAVEL HEALTH CONSULTATION
A public health nurse will discuss with you tips on
food and water safety, suggested travel health supplies
to pack and other ideas to help keep you healthy
during your trip. If malaria is a concern for your
destination, you will be given information on recommended
type and dosage of preventive medicine, (which must
be prescribed by your own doctor.)
SPECIFIC COUNTRY INFORMATION
Using various resources, including our computer program,
TRAVAX, (which is updated weekly), we will provide
you with consultation and a packet of information
tailored to your itinerary. The packet will include
information about disease situations and recommendations,
climate, geography and U.S. Department of State advisories
for each country you plan to visit.
TRAVEL VACCINES
Vaccine needs will be determined on the basis of your
itinerary, length of stay, living conditions during
travel, and your previous immunization history. Most
required and recommended vaccines will be available
at your first clinic visit. Special situations, such
as pregnancy, diabetes or other health conditions,
or traveling with children, may require more than one
visit or consultation with your regular medical care
provider.
