How We Protect You
At Home
- We provide information to help you prevent foodborne illness as you store, prepare
and serve food at home.
Outside the Home
- We provide inspections and education to about 2,700 retail food establishments
in El Paso County that serve food to the public, including:
- Restaurants
- Grocery stores
- Convenience stores
- School kitchens
- Hot dog stands
- Mobile units
In Business and Industry
- We issue retail food establishment licenses in compliance with state law.
- We conduct plan reviews for new and remodeled food establishments to reduce risk
of foodborne illness.
- We provide food safety classes for food service workers in English and Spanish.
