How We Protect You
Vital Records processes birth and death data for El Paso County and provides certified
copies of birth and death certificates for our residents.
Please note: Marriage licenses and certificates for El Paso County residents are available at the
El Paso County Clerk and Recorder's Office.
How to Obtain Records
Online
El Paso County Department of Health and Environment
does not accept online credit card orders. But for your convenience, you can
process online requests through an independent company that we partner with to
provide this service. VitalChek Network Inc. can be reached online or by phone at (800)
255-2414. An additional fee is charged by VitalChek for using this
service; American Express, Discover, MasterCard and Visa are accepted.
Note that proof of relationship and
a valid photo ID are required to process all requests.
In Person or By Mail:
Fee Schedule
- Note that fees are paid on a "per visit" basis
- First copy of birth certificate: $17.75
- First copy of death certificate: $17
- Additional copies of either birth or death certificates, $10 per copy
